This is the beginning of the hike down the Paria River in Arizona. Although this image was taken just over the State line in Utah in a slot canyon tributary called Buckskin Gulch. There are a few ways to start the Paria River and this option can be very interesting with its tight walls and interesting colours. However, there were also sections of waist deep water on this occasion. I would put all my camera gear in a plastic garbage bag and float it across those sections! Great fun!
